Nutty Flapjacks
Ingredients
Serves 16 | 362 calories per serving
340g butter
2 tablespoons golden syrup
170g light brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
370g oats
30g desiccated coconut
30g ground almond
30g chopped walnuts
85g plain flour
50g chocolate chips (melted)(optional)
Method
Preheat oven to 160 Celcius.
Melt the butter with golden syrup, vanilla & sugar until all melted and combined.
Weigh out all other ingredients (except for chocolate chips) into a large bowl.
Line a 8 inch dish with greaseproof paper.
Add the melted mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until all the dry mix is evenly coated.
Pour into the lined dish and bake until firm and golden for 25-35 minutes. Allow to cool completely before attempting to slice or the flapjacks will crumble.
If using the chocolate, while your mixture is cooling, drizzle over the chocolate and allow to set with the cooling flapjacks before slicing.
